Chief Fante joined the Ballardsville Fire Department in 1995 as a recruit. Over the past 11 years he has worked his way through the ranks becoming Chief of the Department on January 1, 2006, and was named the paid Chief on December 28th, 2006. 
Chief Fante prides himself in being able to lead his personnel in fire protection for the fire district. His excellence in leadership has earned the respect of the personnel and members of the community & his peers in Public Safety in the county.
Text Box: Assistant Chief Jonathan Barr / 1302
Asst Chief Barr joined the Ballardsville Fire Department in February 1997, and was appointed Assistant Chief on January 1, 2006. He currently fills the role of Training Officer for the department, and oversees all instructors, along with coordinating activities with the Oldham County Fire Instructors Association. Jonathan specializes in Motor Vehicle & Firefighter Rescue Operations, Swiftwater, &  Fire Suppression Tactics.
While not training Firefighters for Ballardsville, Jonathan is a career Captain with the Mt. Washington Fire District in Bullitt County.  
Jonathan prides himself by being able to coach, play, and lead with some of the most “top notch” firefighters in the industry.
Text Box: Major Michael Thompson / 1303
Major Thompson began his involvement in the fire service in May of 1995 with the Jacksonville Fire Department in Alabama. After moving to Kentucky in March of 1997 he joined the Ballardsville Fire Department. He was appointed to Major on January 1, 2006 and is charge of Administration / Organization, Public Information Officer, and the Chief Engineer for the department. 
When away from the department Michael is a career Aircraft-Rescue  Firefighter / Police Officer for the Louisville International Airport.

Captain Neuner joined the Ballardsville Fire Department in 1997, and was appointed Captain on January 1, 2006. Captain Neuner is in charge of Operations and Maintenance of the department and fleet. Matthews long love for Classic cars and attention to detail in mechanics makes the apparatus always be ready when the call comes in.
