Text Box: Become A Firefighter!
Come join the “Elite Fleet”! Become a Firefighter with the Ballardsville Fire Department, & help serve your community!
The BFD is always interested in persons wanting to serve their community and become a Firefighter. Anyone over the age of 18 can be a Firefighter in the State of KY. If you are under 18 and are interested, we have an Explorer Post through the Boy Scouts of America for persons 13 - 17 years old. The benefit of being an Explorer is that when you become 18, some of your training hours roll over and are credited towards your Firefighter I certification. The BFD has had several persons become Firefighter I shortly their 18th birthday. A lot of people comment that “I could never go into a burning house!” Firefighting is not for everyone, and we accept that. But we always can use support personnel to do other tasks to support us. We currently have persons that serve as Drivers / Engineers, Auxiliary, and Equipment Specialist. We always can find a way for you to help us help you serve! Come join us and see how!
To join, come by the Firehouse on Monday nights from 7pm - 10pm while we are having training. We would like to talk to you about joining. Use the E-Mail link below and send us your name and information if you would like to have us contact you, or if you would like any additional information.
